My fiance and I (from the U.S., in our mid-20s) will recommend Fantastic Florence and Francesca to everyone we know who goes to Florence! We took a 3 hour food tour with her, and she was incredibly friendly and thoughtful about what we tasted. First, she provided unique tasting experiences we couldn’t have gotten ourselves. Second, she was born and raised in Florence, and she explained a ton about the culture behind the food (how did the dish become popular, what’s its history, how did she eat it growing up). As a bonus, her boyfriend raises bees, and when she learned I love honey she met us the day after our tour to talk more about honey and give us the chance to try some she had made. We had an amazing time and are so glad to have met her while in Florence!
We were in Florence just for the day with children and grandparents so had asked Francesca for a tour of the city to cater for the fact that most of our party couldn’t walk too far or queue too long. Francesca was brilliant and totally catered for our needs. We all loved the tour and came away happy and knowledgeable!
Our guide Valentina met us at our central city apartment at 9AM and walked us through our Medici Tour with superb knowledge of the family – all in excellent English! Her knowledge of the Medici family was so great, we recorded and videoed much of the tour for future reference. From the time we booked, we were in contact with both Francesca and Valentina through email and WhatsApp. Each were very helpful and eager to personalize our visit. My suggestion would be to allow Valentina (if you can get her) free reign. The three hour tour went over a bit, but was perfect! If you are interested in the Medici family, booking through Fantastic Florence would be a good investment.
Giulia was absolutely fantastic and I recommend her without hesitation. This was basically a private, personal tour by a Firenze native. It was like having a great family or friend show you the real Florence. I found her through Fantastic Francesca after an internet search for early, skip the line tickets to see The David. We waited a little late to book The David tickets on our own—only a few days before arrival and most internet tickets were no longer available. This team found us tickets; they went down to get them the day before just for us. Giulia was so kind, knowledgeable, energetic and light hearted. A lovely young Italian woman. She was perfect for our group of 5 adults. A fantastic way to get a 3 hours overview of the city and see The David.
Francesca was a pleasure to work with from the very first email: friendly, responsive and incredibly helpful. She helped organize a fresco making workshop with local artist Alan – and it was a blast. The kids did not want to leave, we learned so much about frescos, made small ones to take home as a souvenir, and really enjoyed two hours with Alan, who was knowledgeable, fun, and contagiously enthusiastic!
Fantastic Florence has the right name! Francesca did everything possible to get my group of 11 organized to have an amazing day with one of her guides, Letizia. From the moment we arrived in Florence, everything was amazing. We even got the opportunity to enjoy the best sandwich of our two-week trip at a local place we never would have discovered on our own. Letizia was amazing with our kids and made sure we all enjoyed a day we will remember for years to come. Thank you!
Francesca took us on a wonderful tour of her amazing city. Starting with a street food tour in the market (unfortunately my husband was under the weather that day so I had to eat for two – such a hardship!), we felt like visiting family being shown around her much beloved city rather than strangers. She is an absolute delight.
Where do I begin? I can’t imagine our trip to Florence without the help of Francesca. From our initial contact months in advanced, she guided us on activities with our family and friends, times to book, and other options. We booked a private child friendly tour with Francesca with an over view of the Florence. She was very patience and understanding working with a 3 year old who just wanted to run and explore. We were able to visit Accademia and the major landmarks. Another tour and highlight was a boat tour on the Arno river. We got a view of the city that many don’t see. This was our son’s favorite part.
Francesca did a great job in sharing her City with us. It was easy to make arangements with her and when we had to make a last minute change ( due to unforeseen weather conditions !!) she was extremely accomodating. She expertly guided us through the Academia with ease, the Synagogue and the streets of busy Florence. Thanks so much.
